Heya
I'm happy to announce that slayaplaya, our trial member during the last weeks, has made it into our clan. Congrats to you again  I'm pretty happy to have someone new in our clan, especially since he really fits well into our clan. He has everything we are looking for regarding personality and playing skills and I hope he also has found what he was looking for.
I'm sure he is a great addition to our clan and I hope he will also try to improve where he thinks we have to improve.

UTMapPreview Module updated

Hey all
First, sorry again that there were issues with the site. The last server crashed too many times so we had to move to another server. I'm considering to move the provider so we have a stable site again. As you may have noticed, some posts are gone from yesterday so I have to post this news article again.
Anyway, that's not the reason for this article as the title implies. I've spent some time yesterday to update our UTMapPreview module which includes total integration with the site, making it faster, more secure and a bit easier for me to administer. As you can see, there is a new top navigation added to the module so you can more easily navigate to the desired page. There are 2 pages where you can select maps and preview a small thumbnail image. One is categorized into the gametypes and the other one is just all the maps in one list. There's also a changelog for those who are interested in the changes.

Recent Troubles with eS Site

Hello all
First, I'm very sorry about the problems with our site. This time, it's not the bandwidth what was causing troubles but it was our provider which seems not to be the most professional ones...
A friend of mine is hosted on the same server like we are. He got a pretty big site and he decided to switch to a new CMS last weekend. After 2 days, he had major troubles with his site. One you may have noticed as well, that was the suspension of my friends site as well as our own site since we are on the same server. The provider rebuilt our whole server to get rid of certain bugs and to improve performance for our both sites.
Unfortunately, they didn't inform me that the files are stored somewhere else now but also kept the old files where they were originally. So, I was modifying files which weren't really accessed anymore. Well, I was more modifying backup files rather than the real files  I just realised that because I saw that the directory structure isn't exactly the same but since ...

UT2004 eS][AS-Trials Maps Server Rotation 2.6 Released

I've just put together the most recent map rotation from our AS-Trials server. I've added 5 new maps, removed 4 maps due to performance issues or map bugs and updated 2 maps. This map pack comes with 56 maps and the TFA mutator.
This map pack is meant for people who don't like to download all the maps from our redirect server as well as for people who want to practice certain maps offline. Of course, you can use the map pack to run your own server too since I have tried to include all necessary files needed. In the 'Help' folder of the archive you will find a file called eS-Server-AS-Trials-Maps_2_6.txt which includes changelog, installation instructions and credits:

2.0 Installation Instructions
If you have installed version 2.0 or a previous release already, you may like
to delete the old files in your game folder or you also can simply overwrite
the existing files. This map pack only supports the most recent map selection
from our server. Old or buggy maps have been removed. There is no update
package available.
Simply unzip the archive into your game folder and start the trial maps with
Instant Action or similar.

Hey all
I'm happy to announce a new tryout amongst our clan, slayaplaya. Congrats to you We know him especially from our AS Trials server where he used to be really good (most likely still is  ) and as far as I could see on the trainings he joined so far, he is also skilled in iCTF. After some weeks, you will improve quite more and you will be very good really soon, I'm sure.
I'm also pretty sure that you will be a great addition for our clan if it goes on like that and I hope to see you on the trainings
Furthermore, I hope you have found what you've been looking for and that you will enjoy staying with all of us.

eS website was not reachable this morning

Sorry for those who wanted to access our site this morning but as you may have seen, the site wasn't reachable due to bandwidth problems which could have been solved now.
One IP located in Japan was eating up a lot of bandwidth this months (2.5GB) which was the main reason why we exceeded the bandwidth limit. After banning this IP and having a talk with the host, everything should work properly again. We even got more bandwidth since the host said that they can give me more as the server doesn't use much bandwidth right now and the best thing is, we don't pay more 
Well, I hope we won't suffer from such things anymore that soon again. Enjoy

Heya
I've created a new poll to get information about your favourite map packs which were released for UT2004 so far. Since UT has one of the biggest modding/mapping community out there, it might be interesting to see what others prefer. I haven't put official map packs from Epic in the poll because I more would like to see what you like from the mapping community. Also, I think the official map packs rather suck.
If your favourite map pack isn't listed in the poll, please vote accordingly and let us know which one you prefer more, thanks
