what does it mean?
it means Dodge Modification Professional.
DPM is a modification for UT200X from Epic and Digital Extremes that features a single-player game based on movements ability and player velocity through dedicated run maps. These maps require many special movements, known as tricks, in order to be completed up to the finish line. DPM is meant for self-training and improvement, competition, and fun.
How do i came to this? Well at first i wanted to start searching for a trick map, where you can skill some jumps, i wanted it for our training session... and i came along, till i found that video of oleg_razgul (who is also in the DPM team...) which pulled me out of my chair, cause its really amazing what this guy did there...
.
I was, like before, interested in such maps,so i started searching the map, and cause of that, that the map were written down in the video , its was very simple to find it.

I installed it, and played it  so i tried a few things i have seen, and the conclusion is that it can make really fun trying out some jumps, climbing up the walls with multi shieldgung jumps (sg popping) and such things.
Back to the root of the post, well as i said, i will give you the link of the Dodge pro mod. when you downloaded it, pls refer to the demos before starting playing a map. (you can play a demo in ut2004 in the community link )and dont worry if you cannot finish a map... two... or even all  , i even finished only one of the about 20 maps (in double of the "normal" time)
These maps base on really difficult jumps. and when i say really, then i mean DOUBLE REALLY =)
you can play them, when you started ut then you have to go to host game and then you find there a list with "deathmatch, assault, capture the flag" and so on, at the bottom you will find DPM
On the following site you will find some maps and the including mod for it.
Well, before you start playing YOU really should read this guide.

Oh I agree! I tried the Lava map when you have to do wall-dodges only. It's insane  but very funny.
This is a good idea, even for Invasion games. You can easily escape a horde of skaarjs with some good shieldgun moves . |

yep i tried lava a lot, but iam stuck at the first jump. i think you cant reach the first platform with normal wall dodge. or did you? maybe its a boost dodge.
but i cant figure out really what to do, to make a boost doge.
i found this today, where it is a bit better explained, i will give it a try in the evening today : )

I actually managed to do that jump twice!
It was a basic wall-dodge. I think the trick is to make the first jump a bit longer, just before wall-doging. I'm stuck on the 3rd jump though.
Note: you can use translocator to test other jumps if you can't do the first, which is one of the hardest imho. |

Omg, cant believe it. i always got about 10-15% to short.
yeah i know the one with the trans
nevertheless i want to know how this damn boost dodge works lol. well maybe i am doing right.
well i will try it today like the one guy in the forum explained.
asking google now for more boost jump descriptions hehe... maybe i find a demorec ...
Edit:
about trans i forgot: there are levels (i think coldescape was it or sth. similar) which you even cant do with using the trans !!!! lol.... its really amazing...
i think those guys are faster then us, with using the trans in the whole map.... |
