Sorry but I can't say when I've finished the second beta version. ATM I got 3 or 4 different versions and I have to compare their performance.
Also it's summertime, the kids have school holiday yet, there is work waiting in the garden and sometimes I like mapping less than playing with u all
So pls be patient  |

hey FMC, remember u had those really lof FPS on your map., wel on the map im working on at the mo, i was having the same problem. my FPS were at around 25 and lower average and i couldnt fix it, no matter how many anit portals or zones etc... but i did have a couple of projectors, i jsut took them off and now the FPS is at 70+ in some areas even 90-100!! so i tmean si can add laods more now to my map. the Projector in ur map might be the biggest FPS killer. and if you took it off it could really really improve it it wouldnt be a big sacrifice i think, and you could save that nice idea for another map good luck  |

Yeah, I removed the large projector (the lava effect on the ceiling) already some days ago, got more fps but I'm not satisfied yet. Very sad, I liked the effect very much  |

| Yeah was looking great but I think you have to use them in smaller rooms. I've taken a look about projectors a bit in some maps and usually it's a pretty small room where they were used. |

I had no mind to work on my maps for weeks but finally I finished the
These are the changes to the first version:
The lave effect projector on the ceiling is gone I liked it very much but it was a big fps killer.
More than 20 emitters were removed from the torches and the lava to get more fps.
When we played the map some weeks ago some of you were falling in the lava all the time so I made the map less dangerous. The level under the web is not pain causing anymore and there are new ways through the lava with some jump pads. Anyway you shouldn't try to swim in the lava
I added some sound effects (wind sound to the cave and some underwater sound to the lava)
I had an average fps rate of 40-50 and sometimes only 30 with the beta 1 version and now at least about 80 fps, the map should be playable now
Things I still need for the map: of course some testing and bug searching, maybe tomorrow.
I have no ideas about the level description that appears in the map preview, so someone could write something like "Welcome to the dungeon of Tarantula bla bla..."
And finally I need a cool level music - Miszt, maybe you got something in your collection.
I recommend you download the map from , because it has an unpacked filesize of more than 11 MByte and this may take a lot of time when you download it from the gameserver. |

MAN they need you on the FMI team to make utXmp a good game! They dont seem to get that they need to test what they made!

I don't think the map is too easy, there are enough places where you can fall from into the lava IMO Maybe we can see it tomorrow. |

Cool, finally we see a new version. Will upload it today if I have time
Scoprio, not everything is easy to fix and keep in mind these people are not professionals. They might be good but not like real game developers such as Legend was. We can be happy that someone tries it at least.
As you know I'm developing a CMS with a few people. Usually we fix problems instantly (same hour, same day) so we can focus on going on rather than searching the whole day those nasty bugs. Some bugs we just cannot fix easily and needs a lot of investigation until we finally can fix it. Some bugs we might not be able to fix at all. |

I just played it a bit and now I can say it's nice regarding FPS
Just one negative point though, this map is more for NW really. You can hide nowhere, you cannot trick the opponent which is pretty essential in instagib IMO. Maybe some blocks or whatever which limits the sight would improve it a lot I think  |

I can probably add some blocks or so to the bases and the center (like the little walls in CTF-Romra) or make the fog more intensive. Lets see what the other ppl say tomorrow. |
