This doesnt really fit into Chit Chat, as I think it is a very serious incident,
but I was unsure about submitting it as news, as this isnt really a music
web site lol upto you lom if you want to post it as news, would be nice!

Allot of this has been copied from other places, becuase I dont have time
to re-write it all, but its all here anyway! (see below for credits)

Czechtek is open-air international and multicultural music festival with
12 year tradition. Not only different genres of music, but also videoart
and other art performances take place on this unique event of free
culture.
In all history of festival there were no significant damages or problems,
participants while leaving clean the land and take responsibility for
their action.
Contract with the owner of grass plain was clearly shown to police. There
is no indicaion that festival was in any way illegal, every aspect was
according to law of Czech Republic.
Although police stated throughout friday 29th several different reasons
for blockage of access to the place of festival, all were later shown as
lies or desinformation. The final reason for brute attack was "threat of
damaging the surrounding private pieces of land".
The presence of attending young people on surrounding land was caused by
police blockage of all roads and the police action was not taken against
this people, but against the people on legally borrowed property.
Woman from near willage, owner of adjoining land, said she had been woken
up by police friday morning, long before people began to arrive, taken to
police station and by false arguments encouraged to sign complaint.
Most of the people did not hear any appeal to leave the place, many of
them had drunk alcohol-containing beverages and could not go away with
cars, many of them believed that by taking part on legally organized
festival they cannot be targeted by police.
The first police action on saturday 30, 16:30PM took several hours and was
badly coordinated. On the place was 1000 policemen, water cannon, armoured
tank and low-flying helicopter.
The second night attack at 22PM was led with extreme brutality.
Police in heavy suits without identifying numbers refused to give
identifying information, information about their command and information
about first aid location.
Police used massive amounts of tear gas and desorientation grenades, in
many cases they threw tear gas granade into a car and did not let people
inside for long time get out, in other cases they broke car windows by
iron bars, threw grenade in and forced people to get out.
All people were beaten up, including teenage girls, which cried in pain.
Witnesses described attack on lone staing girl, who was pulled down by her
hair and kicked on the ground by four policemen.
There were hundreds of injuries, including cuts, bruises, burnings, broken
arms, shock. Many people were in shock still the next day afternoon with
red faces from tear gas.
Police intentionally damaged cars, electronic equipment and other
property. Attack was led with clear intention to cause injuries.
People were forced to go to near highway, which was closed several hours
and then the waiting trucks were allowed to go dangerously among the
desoriented people. Police confirmed death of young man attending the
festival. Reportedly he was killed by truck which left. The reason of this
death can be manipulated by police, no wittnesses were found to confirm
police statement.
Police brutality continued on scattered people till the sunday morning.
Czech state television Czech TV did not inform about the night attack,
it's news were not balanced, mainly repeating police statements. Czech TV
in its news also under estimated political value of call of freedom and
resignation of minister of interior on sunday's demonstration in Prague,
reporting briefly about techno-goers.
This is a call to foreing media to publish information about unlawful
police brutality and state of democracy and human rights in Czech
Republic.

I have written to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and all the London UK MEP's about this awful incident demanding that questions are raised in both UK parliment and EU parliment. I have also written to the Cezch Republics Presidents office, to thank him for his investigation into what he considered a 'deplorable' action!. if you can please do so yourselves aswell, heres some links for UK peeps, I'm afraid I cant help with other EU peeps...

Well first, I don't think this fit on this site really as this site is focused on UT2004 and our clan. Furthermore this is only regarding UK. Sorry, I don't see any purpose in this as our country handle this way different so I cannot say any comment to it like Leo. It sucks but it doesn't affect non-UK people really, I hope you see what I want to say 
I think it's k to have some news which have another focus, like the attacks in London as this also can affect the whole rest world and is something which might be good to post from time to time. But I'd like to keep in for our clan's purpose and for UT2004 only really. There are many better sites for such news I think and it might be just better to redirect us to such pages. Those who want to participate, they can and those who are not interested can skip it. |

well it does, because I know 3 people that went there, all British  (it happened in the Chezch Republic btw)
No problem not putting it as news, I expected that really, but it certainly does affect everyone, I dont like the attitude of 'its not our country so it doesnt affect us', I'm pretty sure there are dutch/swiss people in hospital right now because of the Cezch police anywayz!
Also, I thought we are all supposed to be EU now? doesnt that make these problems everyones problem? Injustice and mistreatment of any citizen of an EU country should be the concern of everyone in the EU surly?
Well, I'm pretty opinionated on these issues, so I apologies if I am coming accross strong, but its how I feel.......'IMO' |

I know miszt. Still I think this site is not made for such things.
And it doesn't affect people that much as what happened in London. Whereas terrorism can happen everywhere, this cannot really happen in our country nor those it people affect which don't visit such festivals. I would know off people who would say that this was ok more or less 
Well, to be honest, I pretty give a damn about politics. They do what they want anyway  . We are not a part of the EU  (yet ). |

wel heres what INI thinks rofl  ..... i thank you miszt for letting us know about these problems and "news" that is going on around the world. and i do agree it kinda affects every1......but anyways..i agree with Lom that it shouldnt be on the site. or mayb jsut a quick link or something. because to be honest, i turn on TV and its there (not this festival in particular but news), i pick up a paper and its there. i turn on my pc go check my emails and its there on the homepage of every god dam email provider.....i was a bit cheesed that the terrorist attack was put on this site because its got absolutely nothing to do with ut2004 and i come to the site and to ut2004 to get away from all that crap. i it does effect everyone but it should stay off this site i feel. i do thank you for trying to let us know and i know how you feel.
btw 3 of my friends died in the terrorist attacks at the world trade centre and at Bali. |

the police action or the big parties? I guess the police action, coz I know of allot of these partiez goin on in holland, if so, then pherhaps the Dutch politicians can persuade the idiots running the UK how things might be done better! |

This section is for non-ut2004 chitchat Ini, I think it is slightly odd to tell me not to bring up issues that I believe are important, unless obviously we are going to simply focus on UT and nothing else......which is not the impression I got when I joined up to TGP/eS!
You dont have to read what I post, so I dont see any reason to be 'cheesed' about it
I dont have a problem with this item not being made news, as I said originaly, but I'm not gonna apologies for the Terrorist attack news item
Where do you draw the line about what can be posted on this forum? because as far as i can see, the chit-chat section is and alwayz has been for stuff not related to UT...
As I have said about 10 times already, I dont have a problem with it not being made a news item, but I dont think it is right for me to be told I can not post it in this section!

I think it's good to have such posts and thats why we got the chit chat forum. You can post here whatever you like and start discussions about whatever you like. But I think it shouldn't be on the news really. If it's a big news going round the world, I don't mind to post that even on the front page, that's why the London attacks were put as news.
You have submitted/posted those news/topic in the right section so I don't see anything wrong at all otherwise I still can move or change it as news. |

i never asked you to apologise so i dont know where u got that from m8. sorry for making you feel like i wanted you to.
i never told you not to bring up issues. i said "i feel" which means "IMO".the first thing i said was "heres what INI thinks" meaning "my opinion". actually i said there should b a quick link section for things like that. so i actually backed you up in wanting this stuff on the site.but i think its more suited to say a link to skynews or something.

LOL kep posting miszt lol i suport you, its somthing thats inportand too you cause your in the music party stuff. You are a member of our group of friends here @ eS so its good too know Has nothing too do with ut lol but with us as a group and as a team.

ok, well I woz very grumpy when I replied to you ini, I took offence only coz I didnt smoke for a few hours and had a long day, no offence was intended in my reply either, so itz all good and forgotten forget about it, as they say
thanks for that Scorp, thats pretty much what I was trying to say, but i woz in a bad mood, so it came out a bit diffrent  lol all good anywayz
i do agree it shoudnt be news aswell on here, but I am still going to ask, because I want as many people as possible to know about these things, as pressure is needed to be put on governments to stop behaving like this...but anyway....I feel another political rant coming on, so I'm gonna get back to work lol |
