Hey there

Maybe you've noticed some server problems during the last days which resulted in lag sometimes. This is due to beta testing the new AntiTCC 1.19. Since version 19, there was a pretty bad CPU issue which caused the server to use almost its whole resources. Sorry that I didn't let you know about it earlier. Usually it worked very well so I thought it's not really important to mention. Well, there can be versions which causes lag and I don't really have the chances to test it. Whenever I have checked the server, it was in a good condition. Today I see that the CPU was very high and I guess that the server must have lagged pretty badly.

I'm currently uploading a newer version of AntiTCC and I hope it will fix some of those nasty CPU issues. So far it looks much better.

Well, there can be similar issues during those testings so please bear with it and let me know if there's an issue like this again.

I've noticed some people lagging badly today, while normally they don't lag at all. But not all people, so I _guess_ it wasn't the server. (Although my ping was slightly higher too than normal).

However, on the map AS-PuzzleBox-v3-(tfa) (Don't quote me on the exact name), the server will lag like HELL. Someone joins -> warping. Someone leaves -> 2 second freeze & warp. It's seriously not cool and I hope this update takes care or at least improves it. But most likely it's the map (which is huge) unfortunately.

It was the server. It went up to over 90% CPU usage sometimes Confused But many problems also come from the very poorly created maps we have on the server. If you open it in UED, you sometimes want to start to cry Laughing

No matter what map I open in UED, I always cry... out of incompetence of me. I don't get it and I just can't put myself to it to finally learn to map...

Yes, this will help you alot.. Most things I know about mapping is from sites that are linked in that thread. Diddle, if you want an eS trials map you better make it for yourself Smile - i don't like trials that much and probably won't make a new map for it Razz

It's a very good tutorial which explains everything step by step. You should be able to create really basic rooms and other things, get used to more advanced things a bit later on such as lighting, bot paths etc. Then I recommend you to go to the

to get even more advanced tutorials and other useful resources. You may also try to get involved in a good group of developers, usually found on a developer-related site with forums. They are very helpful usually Smile

Anyway, to keep this topic on-topic I only wanted to add that the latest version of AntiTCC fixed a lot of performance issues, at least server-side.

*please* get good first then make a trials map diddle Very Happy I can only think of about 2 trials maps that are even half decent.... the rest make me want to cry too Confused

There certainly have been some weird bugs on the servers lately... good luck fixing it, hope it works now Wink

Since a few days, I've went back to beta12 because after that version, all the problems started such as dodging problems, weird shakings and other issues. So far, it looks much better and people enjoy playing again Smile

I haven't posted here because I just had too much going on, especially regarding the site conversion so I waited until now.
