Heya,
if I haven't mentioned it yet, my WLAN router (T-Sinus 154 basic 3) wasn't working. I had a 2 years warranty and got a new one after 3 days or so, unfortunately it's another model because the old one isn't produced anymore. If I wouldn't work for the company that sold me the router I'd say the new one (Speedport W501V) is crap
When I play and my wife is surfing via WLAN I get massive lag, and every hotline tells me this can't be changed
Before I try to find my old model in eBay or so, can anyone recommed me a router from another manufacturer, i.e. Netgear, D-Link, BinTec or so? WLAN is needed, an integrated DSL modem would be nice (PPPoE), a switch isn't necessary. It needs an adjustible firewall, DMZ, WPA2 encryption and I want to set the MTU manually. |

Hi FMC
Well, unfortunately I got everything wired so I don't know what is a good WLAN router. I've got a Netgear one though. It was cheap and it's pretty nice. Got a good web interface to admin it, got firewall and even a switch included so I'm happy with that D-Link should be nice too and Cisco would be good as well. My wired router got all that you've listed expect the modem but I didn't need that so probably there is also one with a modem integrated. They got the same stuff for wireless hardware AFAIK.
Cannot help you more, sorry |
