I'm sure you have heard of this game already as it's a new milestone in the game industry. This RPG game comes with aand I'm sure most of the people who like such games will also like this one.
Here is a brief overview about the game from the executive producer:
| Quote: | "Since starting this project two years ago, our goal has been to create the quintessential RPG of the next generation," said Todd Howard, executive producer of The Elder Scrolls® series. "We looked back at what we had done with the series, and then looked ahead to what the future of video games could be, and we think this is it."
In keeping with the Elder Scrolls tradition, players will have the option to experience the main quest at their own pace, and there will be plenty of opportunities to explore the vast world and make your own way. Numerous factions can be joined, such as the thieves or mages guilds, and each contains its own complete storyline and the chance to rise to the head of the faction and reap further rewards.
Howard commented, "Our games have always been about great depth and variety in creating any kind of character you want and going out and doing whatever you want." He added, "With Oblivion, we're taking the idea of a virtual fantasy world as far as it will go."
Oblivion features a groundbreaking new AI system, called Radiant AI, which gives non-player characters (NPCs) the ability to make their own choices based on the world around them. They'll decide where to eat or who to talk to and what they'll say. They'll sleep, go to church, and even steal items, all based on their individual characteristics. Full facial animations and lip-synching, combined with full speech for all dialog, allows NPCs to come to life like never before.
Oblivion is a single-player game that takes place in Tamriel's capital province, Cyrodiil. You are given the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty, the previous emperor having been killed by an unknown assassin. With no true Emperor, the gates to Oblivion (the equivalent of hell in the world of Tamriel) open, and demons begin to invade Cyrodiil and attack its people and towns. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel. |
If you haven't heard of it yet, you may want to take a look at their homepage. Of course, you will find also other interesting things if you know the game already:
Following some screenshots. Check them out, it's really impressive:
If you haven't seen enough, there are some more :
I just got it myself the last days and I'm looking a bit into the fascinating world of Oblivion Really impressive what you can do.
Anyone else got it? I'm enjoying it so far and it'll be a game which I won't finish after one or two days woot! Since you can tweak a lot with the settings, it even runs on my PC Well, I was able to fix something in my PC and maybe also UT will run smoother again, well I hope. |

LOL, yeah, I also had Morrowind but for some reason, I never liked that game. Though, this game I really like. It's really amazing.
GTA San Andreas: Done
Dungeon Siege 2: Done (single and multiplayer with a friend -> It's k but it's getting boring, better than the old one though)
Black & White 2: Done (not really a nice game though, I expected a lot more )
We would be finished with those games this weekend somewhere if I help you |

The last RPG I played was Hexen II, a mixture of RPG and FPS (in 1999 or so ). I don't like RPGs anymore, only some UT2k4RPG from time to time but I guess this doesn't count in your eyes |

Hexen is more an FPS to me since you cannot create your own character, level it up, get stronger via attributes and abilities, trade items and a lot more so I cannot compare those really.
Was playing it quite a bit during the last weekend. Well, it's really huge lol so I couldn't get that far really. Though, it's really nice to explore the world. You come across really awesome sceneries and the best thing is, I won't finish it that soon like most of the other games |

I mean Hexen 2, and it was possible to choose one of four characters (5 with the mission pack) with different abilities, and they got stronger during the game. |

Still haven't finished this game lol but I plan to finish it. My first priority is to level my character and that takes a long time until you're finished. Though, I get near the end with my character. Still need to level up quite a bit but most things are done
As already mentioned, the game is huge but it also depends on how you play it of course. I try to find everything and that takes time lol.
Well, I'll see when I finish it. My character now is currently level 26.
Scorp, you started to play it as well I think? You still play it? Did you come any further or did you lose interest? |
