| This thread is meant to report any suggestions, improvements, ideas, changes as well as other comments regarding our iCTF server. Since we want to provide quality game servers we urge you to help us to make the servers even better. Thanks a lot for your input. |

Ok, I've removed the UTComp voting feature so you only can vote with the normal MapVote system. Everything else will stay there like the enhanced scoreboard, brightskin, hitsound and so on. Server looks pretty k and I think it will become a pretty nice server as well. However, we have to take care on CPU but for now it's seems ok
Hopefully we can make it a bit popular like the Invasion server and so far it was really nice. Pretty many joined already today  |

Well depends on popularity but I think so I will keep the test server for a few days now and look how it develops. The better it's used the sooner I make it an official eS server and also will track stats  |

I've updated UTComp to version 1.4b. It's possible that you need to do all the settings you have done so far because it will generate a new section for every new version which is up on the server. However, you can keep your settings if you do the following:
1. Search for your User.ini file
2. Open/Edit the file and look for utcompv14a and replace all of them with utcompv14b
3. Save file
4. Done
Furthermore I've increased the tickrate from 20 to 35 which should give you a more stable connection to the server. A tickrate between 30 and 35 is standard on ClanBase.
That's it. It worked for me and I also hope that will work for you  |

I think I'll make the server soon noticeable that it is ours (similar to the Invasion server) -> changing from Test Server to eS Server.
So far I've seen that mainly Instagib was played and I also know that it's really popular. I think I will remove the normal weapon map lists so we only have Instagib. Maybe Rat don't like that but I think it's better not to mix normal weapons with Instagib on one server anyway. IMO it's best to have only one game type with specific settings but I think its k to have 2 (3) gametypes on one server. I probably will remove the normal weapons soon so we only have an iDM/iTDM/iCTF Server.
I think most won't mind at all and also we can avoid to clear out the server. For example if we would play with normal weapons after we played iCTF I'm sure many will leave and that's not what I want. Usually ppl join the server because of the gametype played right now and not because they want to play some iCTF first and after some DM with normal weapons. |

k to know, that you me like that. you are right.
playing always instagib is imho lame. with normal weapons you have to have other skills to win, and not only fast -good - aiming - wich is the only skill you need on instagib, you can jump around crazy what you like, if your opponent is a good aimer, you will loose in 90% of cases,and if you want play (in the future) clanmatches, you will not only have instagib DM Matches.
but its your decision, but notice, i dont see any good reason, to take it out.

Are you sure? How many ppl just vote what is in the already voted menu? We just saw that yesterday. We didn't realise that we had a 1on1 map list selected and other players couldn't connect anymore. Also this is based on experience. I've played UT since the beginning of UT2003 it always was like that and it will remain like that. It's somehow a "rule". I think it's k to mix Instagib DM and CTF though because that gives some changes but doesn't change the whole setup. But most Instagib players don't like normal weapon (ask Lightning and many others ) and the other way round which makes sense imo.
I know many appreciate that because on almost every server which had similar setups and a bit popularity (normal weapons and IG) it cleared out the whole server when the gametype or NW/IG was changed. It's like you would join another server and the idea is to keep the ppl on that server. If you want to play with normal weapons than you should find a server where you can play that. Keep in mind we're (or mainly myself) are talking about a public server. I would have np with a private server set up like that. Maybe we can arrange that but not atm. |

I made a few changes to the server, mainly I removed map lists which shouldn't be there imo.
I removed all the 1on1 map lists and also all the normal weapon map lists. For now we only have iDM/iTDM/iCTF but don't worry to much about not having normal weapons anymore. If we want to play it I easily can add them again and maybe I will make a private server only so we can have such map lists. I just think it's not a good idea to have these map lists on a public server. On a private we cannot have enough imo so maybe I gonna prepare a "private" setup of the new server so we can have everything we like  |

I played on the iJB server tonight, it was fun Some people joined who I know from other servers too, and we played iDM and iCTF.
Just a couple of suggestions:
Custom instagib rifles? A thinner beam is easier to see and doesn't disturb your view as much.
The bots were too hard! If the teams were balanced by a bot, the team with the bot always won. |

The bots are masterfull I think...I still have to try a one on one match with some bots...we played with a bot at training right? That was np for me...
O well thats just me, does take some time to get used to bots and how thy play very....direct LOL when they see you your death!
BTW Lomb if i get admin rights...can I add bots to the servers? Just when we need some players? |
