My wife and I just planning our summer holiday. My idea is to go to Holland, more exactly to the northern part of it. Now my question to our members from that country: which city/region would you suggest (Friesland, Groningen, Oberijssel)?
I don't want to travel in another part of Holland, it would take to much time to get there by car.
Our other idea is to go to Denmark, which is easier to reach from here (1 hour by car and 2 hours with a ferry).
And finally, should I say Holland or Netherlands? |

Well what do you wanna see?
I sugest Friesland, but there not really dutch or so the clame! Strange ppl. 
Its The Netherlands, Holland is a part of The Netherlands or so I think.
Ps. I would go to Denmark myself if i were you.  |

Yeah, I've learned the same. Holland should be a part of the Netherlands so if you mean the whole country Netherlands should be the one you want to use  |

Heh, I live in Overijssel, Enschede in fact. Very close tzo ze Gzerman border, every weekend the town is infested with Germans.
And only the seperatists in Friesland claim they're not part of the Netherlands. Morons, that's what they are. I'm originally from Friesland (lived there until last year), I don't speak 'Frysk' and I certainly don't feel seperated from the Netherlands. Hah, without the Netherlands, Friesland wouldn't survive. Thank god there are some enlightened people in that province as well.
But go to Denmark, besides the legalized drugs, I can't think of anything the Netherland has to offer to visitors, besides cold beaches and jellyfishes in them. |
